ACES 2.0 Released for End-Users
The highly anticipated release of ACES 2.0 for end-users is here, and ACES support from third-party hardware and software manufacturers is now available in the market.
Support for ACES 2.0 has been integrated into SGO’s products, including Mistika Ultima, Mistika Boutique, and Mistika VR. Additionally, Pomfort has announced support in Silverstack and Livegrade. Autodesk is set to introduce ACES 2.0 support in Flame later this spring. Furthermore, the Academy Software Foundation's OpenColorIO (OCIO), a key enabler for ACES implementation across numerous VFX products and workflows, has also released its support for the latest ACES version.
This significant development was covered by Variety in an exclusive article, which also highlighted what was a well-received, standing-room-only panel discussion featuring filmmakers at NAB on April 7.
During the NAB Show, Blackmagic Design unveiled Resolve 20, which includes beta support for ACES 2.0. We eagerly anticipate user feedback on this and other releases from ACES Product Partners and implementers in the coming months.

ACES Filmmaker Panel at NAB 2025

The NAB panel was moderated by Variety’s Senior Entertainment Technology & Crafts Editor Carolyn Giardina and featured senior colorist Alastor Arnold (“Anora”), visual effects supervisor Jeff Budsberg (“The Wild Robot”), and senior colorist Francesco D’Ascenzo (“Rhythm + Flow”), who discussed their experiences with ACES 1.3 and the pre-release version of ACES 2.0.
A recording of the session will be available soon.
